"I'll tell you right now from my heart. I would have never come to this part of my life if it weren't for Jewish Family Service. I had just lost my husband. I was all alone. I was just so unhappy and so sad. Somebody said, 'Why don't you go to the Jewish Family Service?' I don't remember who the girl was, but she said, 'They're very nice people. They helped me.' So I said, 'OK, give me the number.' I figured anything, anybody to help me.
So I gave you a call at Jewish Family Service. My father would have been very happy because we're Jewish. I gave you a buzz and told you my story. I was crying again, because I was sad. I just couldn't help it because I missed Joe. I missed him so much. He was a sweet man. He saved my life and I saved his.
That was the change of my life when I went to Jewish Family Service. Because I had somebody. They were very kind, that's the first thing. Very nice, very classy. They got me Kosher Meals on Wheels. I had never been on that. Then I got acquainted with them, so I let them see my pictures on the wall. We became real good friends.
Somehow, some way I hope to get lucky. Even though I'm this age now, I still feel that some way I'm going to get lucky. And when I do I will show my appreciation to the Jewish Family Service because they saved me, they really did."
